My Beauty Essentials

This is something that is often neglected by many. I believe that if we want to have great skin, then we should invest in it, and not take it for granted. Along with these you must cultivate a happy disposition and healthy lifestyle. Beauty comes from within and it radiates out in our aura more than we perceive, so it is as important as your regimen. As we all know having flawless skin is the key in achieving great looks with or without make-up, so as early as possible let us take good care of our skin.

Surprise! Surprise! I am very excited to share with you the products that I love and I indulge in. First, I prep my skin with double cleansing method. What is double cleansing method? It is a process where you use two types of cleanser to deeply eliminate make-up, sebum that clogs your pores, excess oils and other water-resistant products. This method has a reverse effect on oily and combination skin like mine. I was reluctant to try it at first but my skin care consultant explained the whole process and how it works. She then gave me samples of the products to try and I told myself why not give it a shot. I have nothing to lose if they don’t work then I don’t have to buy them. I can just go back to my regular cleansing regimen.

Four weeks later I was able to feel the difference in my skin, it’s no longer excessively oily and it became more supple and glowing. I didn't regret giving them a try!

Below are the types of cleanser that I use:

My Cleansing Essentials

· L'occitane Imortelle oil make-up remover- I apply this on my dry face (not pre-washed) and massage it in for at least 2 minutes, then I start adding warm water and it will start to emulsify where it turns the oil milky while massaging your face.
      I then add,

· L'occitane Imortelle Precious cleansing foam or Ole Henriksen Truth Gel Cleanser  and massage it in again for another minute before rinsing with warm water.

* Tip: Massage face using a circular motion only. Use middle and ring finger, they have the most ideal amount of pressure that could help avoid wrinkles. Focus on your most oily or problematic areas (in my case, my nose and forehead areas).

Then I pat my face with towel to dry and then apply my toner.

·  L'occitane ImortelleEssential Water. (this is optional, according to some skin care expert they do not recommend using a toner as it dries up the skin which make sense as some contains alcohol) This one that I'm using is alcohol free, enriched with Imortelle floral water and organically derived hyaluronic acid.

Next is the crème de la crème! For my eyes, I use two products.

My Eye Essentials

A wrinkle targeting product which I use during night time or if I am attending an event, is:

  •     Kate Somervillle wrinkle warrior eye gel,  this product is amazing, they were launching this brand when I tried it. They applied it at the back of my hand, and after few minutes I noticed my skin where it was applied was instantly smooth and plump. I went back and ask for a sample to further test the product and boy it did not disappoint!

The other product I use is:

         After these, I use:

My serum and face oil

· Ole Henriksen Truth Serum- to prevent wrinkles, promotes collagen production, and minimizes my pores.

        At night I use,

    ·  L'occitane Imortelle Divine youth oil- these helps balance out my oil production especially in my T-zone areas. It also promotes healthy glowing skin as it works on fighting visible signs of aging.

My face cream

      Lastly,
     ·      L'occitane Harmonie Divine Face Cream, this works wonders in resurfacing my skin. I was chatting with my sister Niña (who lives in Australia) when I found out that she's also using my fave products and brands. I was surprised to learn how we love the same things! It was like finding a best friend and a partner in crime. We’re indeed sisters!

My sister Nina

I was using an Imortelle Divine lotion when she introduced L'occitan Harmonie Divine Face Cream to me. I told her, “Oh my sissy, I can’t indulge in that, because it might break the bank.” But when she came for a visit last December, I saw the results with my very own eyes and I'm sold! I asked for samples to give it a try. In matter of days I saw the difference. Right after I finished my Divine lotion I got myself a full size.

Now, as days go by, my skin just keeps getting better and better. It has the power of Immortelle Millesimee essential oil from a flower that never fades and red algae "Janea Rubens" which has the ability to eternally regenerate.

As I age, I have realized that it is important to invest in a good skin care to maintain your skin and to age gracefully. When it comes to taking good care of your skin, the use of sunblock is as vital as your other routines to prevent harsh UV rays and radicals which cause skin damage. It is not only used to stop signs of aging but it will save you from skin cancers too.

My most trusted product for this is:

My Body Essentials
·       La Roche-Posay Anthelios Sunscreen for both face and body.

As part of my skin care routine I use:

·       Olay Body wash or L'occitane Vervienne Shower Gel, and L'oocitaneVervienne Lotion and my most recent go to is Nivea CoQ10 lotion. I fell in love with how smooth my skin feels, and how nice my skin smells with Nivea lotion. And of course, don't forget to put on your sunscreen!

I am also convinced that as part of your skin care, you should also invest in good foundation as a base for your make up that will act as your second skin. I will do a separate post for this though, so please do watch out for it.

These sums up my skin care regimen and my beauty essentials. Always remember that our ‘skin chemistry’ are uniquely different so it is important to know your skin and needs first. Always ask for trial samples first before splurging on it, especially if it is pricey, unless they are willing to do return and/or exchanges for you. It took me a while to perfectly find my custom concoction for my skin's needs but it’s all worth it. Good luck and have fun in finding your own personalized concoction that will work for your skin chemistry and budget! Let me know of your interesting stories or product discoveries that might be helpful for many of us. Just post them in the comment section below. Thank you so much and Ta-ta!

‘til my next post.

Defining my Style and my Closet Essentials!

D efining my style have started a long way back. As far as I can remember, I started experimenting on my sense of style as early as high school but I had more freedom in College when I was doing a lot of modelling gigs and I was earning extra money from it. I have always love elegance and class, I find that I have dressed more mature than my age, and I always thought I have an old soul, (this makes me smile) and overtime I fell in love with Chic outfits. Why is it important to define your style? Defining your style will influence how you shop and how you will build your wardrobe. You must define your personality as well and anchor them together so that what you wear will express your inner self. Your beauty, your truth, your feelings. I am lucky to have attended many workshops/classes in personality development and these include the fundamentals of dressing. In dressing fit and cut is highly important, it can make it or brake the look. I also got lucky to work with di...

My Journey to a better version of ME!

Pre-pregnancy Love yourself and your life – by doing so, it will motivate you to achieve a better version of yourself. @105 lbs one of my modelling comp cards pictures. I don't always have this perfect sunny disposition, but this is a commitment I make every day. With what I have been through you can say my life is full of colors and different shadings but what I have learned through this journey in life is that we decide what we make of ourselves and how we are going to touch the lives of people around us. And for me it is to inspire, influence, and care in the most positive way possible. I am not a Saint by all means, I will take no crap from anyone, nor conform with anything that doesn't fit my principles. Or even subject myself to be classified based on the judgement of others of who I am supposed to be in their eyes. After my first attempt to lose weight.  You see, it's all about perspective and I have learned to be resilient from being...
